By sumit90

  1. Install Active Directory on Windows Server 2003
  2. install DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) and RIS from the following path:-

Control Panel> Add and Remove Windows Components.

  1. Configure integrated DHCP (DHCP) and DNS (Domain Name System).
  2. Format two partition in NTFS disk format.

Then follow the following path to do further steps:-

Start > Programs > Administrative Tools > RIS

Then check the box Respond Client

After that just click Next, Next.

Click Browse > insert windows disk and select i386 folder from it to create RIS image and click ok.

After then just click next, next, next…….

After completing the task just click done.

Restart the system.

Now here is your RIS server fully configured and ready to apply windows image to client machines.

It was the easiest way to configure the RIS server further modification to RIS server can be done through scripts.

(This configuration can be done by the people who have some knowledge of computer networking as configuring the DHCP and DNS are also required in this configuration)
